Job Description PURPOSE
The overall function of this position is to be a key contributor in the execution of the daily activities of the risk management department in the areas of corporate insurance, product theft / counterfeit / diversion prevention, OSHA compliance, crisis management and corporate risk reporting.
RELATIONSHIPS
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Risk Management and be part of the Legal Operations function at Novo Nordisk Inc. This position will interact and work closely with the Supply Chain, Fleet, Facilities, Legal, HR and Compliance departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Conduct the collection, analysis and submission of exposure information for the annual renewal of local insurance programs.
• Perform department budget review, analysis and reporting.
• Ensure premium invoices are received, verified for accuracy and paid, and insurance policies are issued in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with Legal department and insurance carrier to ensure all EPL claims are submitted in a timely fashion and any coverage issues are addressed.
• Partner in performing the eligibility and reporting process for Medicare Secondary Payer requirements.
• Review and evaluate all Certificate of Insurance requests, provide response to business and work with broker for issuance of Certificates.
• Coordinate global insurance activities with Corporate Risk Dept and global broker as necessary.
• Participate with internal health and safety reviews, document and follow for resolution of any deficiencies.
• Perform reviews of contract insurance provisions and provide feedback and recommendations to Legal department and Business functions.
• Provide input for development of department intranet site, and complete layout changes and content updates.
• Collaborate with department members in developing internal risk management awareness and training.
• Participate in the establishment of various department business continuity plans.
• Assist with applicable product theft, diversion and counterfeit investigations and prevention initiatives.
• Review, analyze and propose responses to ad-hoc business requests for risk management input and guidance

Approximately 5% overnight travel

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of progressive experience in a corporate risk management function.
• Pharmaceutical / life sciences / health care industry experience a plus.
• ARM or CPCU designation a plus.
• Working knowledge of the commercial insurance industry, risk management skills and techniques.
• Ability to work independently, with limited oversight, on multiple tasks / projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a dynamic work environment and adapt to change.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Office applications.
• Detail oriented, analytical thinking with excellent problem solving skills.
• Health and Safety and/or Brand Protection experience a plus.
