Senior Information Resource Scientist
- Research & Development
- Denmark - Bagsværd
In this job you will be architecting and building the future interfaces for information discovery in Novo Nordisk. Are you the information architect or systems consultant who can do that?
About the department
You will be working with +40 dedicated colleagues in Global Information & Analysis (GLIA) based in Denmark and the US and as part of the team Library Resource Management you will be responsible for the discovery and presentation of external information resources throughout Novo Nordisk.
The Job
Novo Nordisk’s researchers, who are dedicated to changing diabetes rely on access to updated information in order to be innovative and foster new knowledge. That´s why Global Information & Analysis is starting up a project to focus on optimal information discovery via state of the art search systems and websites.
As a senior information resource scientist you will be helping us to architect and implement solutions. You will focus on how information is presented and searched. We currently use search engines such as Primo and ALMA from Ex Libris, home-grown taxonomies and websites in SharePoint as well as mobile devices. Your main focus will be to secure easy discovery and delivery of information across these and future platforms. Also you make sure that we take full advantage of the investments, and you arrange for continuous optimisation and improvement of the user interfaces and the data quality. You will also be involved in library services such as our global information help desk.
Qualifications
You have a proven track record (+5 years experience) in designing user-centered information discovery solutions based on electronic resource management systems, quality data and taxonomies. You can drive projects and network actively in the organization. As you will be architecting information flows and working with both data and systems, a strong combination of information and IT skills, is required. You will work closely with IT developers and are able to engage constructively with both IT and information people. You may have a background in library and information science or solid experience of information systems and processing in a library environment. Strong language skills are essential in a global company and you may also be involved in taxonomy work. You are characterised as a creative initiator and innovator, who is curious, serviceminded and selfdependent. Finally, your drive, high spirits, networking abilities and solid collaboration skills make you an asset for your team and GLIA in general.
At Novo Nordisk, we strive for excellence. As a world leader in diabetes care and a major player in haemostasis management, growth hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy, we offer our employees opportunities for continuous growth
