Principal/Senior Scientist - Protein Chemistry

- Research & Development
- Denmark - Måløv

The Department of Protein Chemistry has an open position for a principal/senior scientist with a strong background within analytical liquid chromatography and method development.

About the department
The Department of Protein Chemistry is part of the Diabetes Protein Engineering function area in the Diabetes Research Unit (DRU) located in Måløv, north-west of Copenhagen and is involved in early phase discovery of human therapeutic proteins for treatment of diabetes and obesity. The Department is organized in three teams, working with various aspects of protein chemistry with focus on techniques as protein expression, purification, characterization, analysis development, as well as protein stability and design. The team responsible for analysis development and protein characterization is now looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to strengthen our competence within analytical method development.

The Job
The discovery work is organized in multidisciplinary project teams and you will contribute with expertise within analysis development to several early stage projects. Furthermore, you will have an active role in development of our chromatographic separation toolbox and will play an important part in the transfer of analysis methods to development settings. Your everyday responsibilities will involve both hands-on experimental project work as well as more strategically oriented tasks related to maintaining and developing our technology platform and methods portfolio.

Qualifications
You hold a Ph.D. in protein chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related discipline with additional postdoctoral training within the above mentioned disciplines. You have an excellent track record of original research and extensive experience in chromatographic separation of proteins and peptides. Experience in Quality by Design and chromatographic modelling, as well as experience from a biotech/pharmaceutical R&D setting including IPR generation is considered an advantage. Finally, since all work takes place in multidisciplinary project groups, good interpersonal interactive and communicative skills are essential.

At Novo Nordisk, we strive for excellence. Your skills, dedication and ambition will help us change lives for the better. In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work in an extraordinary stimulating scientific environment and benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
