Job Description PURPOSE:
Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Director, Project Execution. Works under general supervision, following established procedures. Work is reviewed regularly by the supervisor. This position will interact with all levels of the business community and IT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analyzes and Fulfills Business Needs:
• Applies knowledge of the business and industry to assist with the decision making process.
• Applies requirements elicitation, analytical, and communication skills to
analyze information needs and functional requirements to deliver the following artifacts as needed.
• Challenges business units on their assumptions on processes and solutions used to achieve business goals.
• Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, tasks and workflow analysis.
• Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from underlying true needs.
• Is familiar with the business partner’s products, services, finances, and strategies as well as influencing business forces such as customers, suppliers, competitors, regulators, and stockholders.
• Strong business analysis skills required including ability to interpret business needs, translate them into requirements, and trace requirements from business case to implemented solution.
• Utilizes knowledge of the assigned business function to identify business needs and develop value-added solutions.
• Works independently with business stakeholders to define concepts and under direction of supervisor or project manager.
Builds Relationships and Influence Key Stakeholders:
• Builds trusting, collaborative relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders which help accomplish key business objectives.
• Clearly communicates to business leaders and stakeholders with fact-based rationale, understanding of business objectives, and based on company processes and principles to present ideas and guidance.
• Delivers messages and presentations in a clear, confident manner.
• Uses knowledge of IT capabilities and business processes to facilitate communication between stakeholders and IT staff.
Leverages Technology Principles, Knowledge and Practices:
• Demonstrates a good understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge.
• Demonstrates an understanding of capabilities of information technology and applications, enabling the identification of opportunities for process redesign and improvement.
• Provides advice and guidance to others about how technologies can support overall business processes.
Manages IT Projects:
• Supports project success through timely and accurate input on project plans, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
• Works collaboratively with project team members to achieve individual and project team goals.
Manages IT Vendors:
• Assists the development of SLA, RFIs, and RFPs as required to enable third party solutions and IT services.
• Monitors vendor activities to ensure compliance with contract expectations and company standards and provides feedback to project manager.
Understands and Applies Risk Management Practices:
• Applies risk management processes to support system lifecycle.
• Understands and applies risk management standards to ensure processes, projects, and systems meet required standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Approximately 5% overnight travel

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• A BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field required. Relevant experience may be substituted when appropriate.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, IT, programming/systems analysis or other related experience required.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in leading a project in the development and implementation of processes and programs.
• Demonstrates strong project work and project planning experience and previous experience in a full development life cycle.
• Demonstrates superior written and oral communication skills.
• Expert at Workshop design and facilitation.
• Proficient at developing business process design (Process flows, I/O diagrams, etc.)
