Job Description PURPOSE:
Accountable for monitoring and analyzing impacts of environmental and technology changes and drives strategic efforts to develop roadmap for future system’s needs.
Drives the development, implementation and maintenance of system solutions and third party data management that provides intelligence to field and Home Office stakeholders, with particular focus on sales representatives. Leads overall engagement to gather business requirements, create and present business case recommendations and project plan to senior management, secure project approval and funds, and ensure timelines and stakeholder expectations are met – from a business and user experience perspective.
Responsible for data governance across Novo Nordisk; working closely with sales, marketing, and IT.
Ensures that all third party data needs across various functions of business are met and vendor spend is optimized. Manages all aspects related to data quality, deliverables, timing, etc. for national and sub national data for diabetes and BioPharm products. Conducts RFP on data acquisitions, ensures that NNI gets the competitive offers, gets alignments from stakeholders, and implements solutions to meet needs of the business.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Vice President, Commercial Effectiveness. Interacts intensively with members of Commercial Effectiveness, Information Technology, Diabetes Sales Management, BioPharm, Sales Training and Sales Representatives. Other relationships include interactions with Diabetes Marketing, SBO and HR. Acts as international project member of global field automation system developments and interacts with members of Global IT and Global Marketing. Interacts and engages with consultants based on the needs of the projects.
Manages a team of ~15 direct reports and external consultants. Manages ~$15 MM in budget. Acts as an active member of Commercial Effectiveness Leadership Team. Partners and collaborates with IT for technical implementation. Works closely with external data vendors such as IMS, Walter Kluwers, technology and implementation vendors etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
BUSINESS AUTOMATION AND REPORTING:
-Assesses situation and makes relevant insightful proposals for further streamlining and optimization of Reporting and dashboards.
-Collaborates across business units including Sales, Marketing and technology, and manages long-term and significant value projects and ensures consistent follow-up and attention to detail.
-Develops system road map to meet business needs in short-term and long-term. Develops long-term strategy and vision in proposing solutions to improve business performance.
-Drives the building and continuous improvement of deliverables from Field System Analytics
-Manages prioritization of business requests to IT through a solid and transparent IT prioritization process, ensures correct prioritization and sets expectations accordingly.

DATA GOVERNANCE:
-Develops roadmap and drives data governance activities across Novo Nordisk US for third party data as it related to IMS, Walter Kluwers, BioPharm data providers, FingerTip formulary etc. Provides direction and leadership to organization how best to optimize data investment across multiple functions and vendors. Communicates proactively with key stakeholders on available data sources and ensure future data needs are identified and addressed to meet growing business needs. Drives robust data governance process at Novo Nordisk in USA. Works closely with Global counterparts to ensure consistency and avoid duplication of spend etc.
DATA MANAGEMENT:
-Directs data processing and storage optimization efforts, partnering with IT as needed.
-Manages all data for diabetes and BioPharm therapeutic areas / brands, ensuring that data is complete, consistent business rules / definitions are used and there is a clear and efficient process for accessing relevant data sources.
- Manages customer master data, securing data quality and alignment with compliance requirements.
DIABETES SALES FORCE AUTOMATION AND REPORTING:
-Oversees the development of field communications related to launch, pull-through and maintenance of One Stop Shop and other Field Systems within the scope of the department
-Manages and owns all third party data that is required for sales force Incentive Compensation and Call Plan. This data is at national and subnational level. Manages all vendor contract negotiations and optimizes spend across functions. Ensure data is delivered timely and with high quality. Puts proper metrics and SLAs in place to exceed all sales operations metrics related to data management. Actively pursued new sources of data that can help business provide additional insight into the marketplace.
FIELD SALES ANALYTICS:
-Leads development of a roadmap for one stop-shop system for automated delivery of Sales, Marketing and Activity intelligence to Sales Reps and first line managers.
-Manages business ownership and drives continuous process improvement, development and deployment of the new CRM system that provides insights for Sales Reps, eliminates redundancies and creates value with the customer.
-Manages direct reports and consultants in achieving business results, through gathering business requirements for the one stop-shop Rep level analytics and maintaining system solutions relevant to stakeholders. Present complex business case and project charter to ET and communicate key objectives, scope, and vision.
-Oversees information input and shares development and deployment strategies with the Core team, Field Input team and Reference groups throughout the project life cycle.
-Oversees projects from securing approvals and funds from ET, to creating teams, assigning tasks and ensuring timelines and stakeholder expectations are met/exceeded.
-Exemplifies best project management practices in a transparent and productive way and coaches
team to follow suit.
SALES FORCE AUTOMATION AND REPORTING:
-Partners with IT to ensure the processes around System Governance and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) relating to Systems within FFE are optimized.
-Formal System Ownership of NNI Field and CE focused BI reporting systems. Collaborates with System Manager (IT)
-Formal System Ownership of NNI MDM system. Collaborates with System Manager (IT)
-Assist CE VP with carrying out formal System Ownership (VP level ownership) of NNI CRM systems. Works with System Manager (IT)
DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE:
Ensure that reporting personnel have annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Also manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Additional Information KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
-A bachelor's degree with at least 10 years relevant experience or MBA with 8 years relevant experience required
-A minimum of 5 years management/supervisory experience.
-Ability to influence people cross functionally and effectively facilitate cooperation for achieving business results
Adept at designing and implementing technology enabled business solutions
-Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
-Extensive experience with developing business cases and project plans
-Formalized project management training and experience with any CRM tool preferred
-Must be able to generate credibility, trust and respect throughout NNI
-Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, well organized and good follow-through
-Proven ability in contract negotiation
-Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a matrixes environment with competing deadlines
-Strong analytical skills
-Strong presentation and written communication skills with ability to articulate complex, high-level project needs
-Strong understanding for US third party data sources
-Significant experience with enterprise Business Intelligence systems like Oracle OBIEE, QlikView, Cognos, etc
-Significant experience with on premise or SaaS CRM systems like SIEBEL, Veeva, Cegedim, etc.
