A position as Research Scientist in our Histology & Delivery department is available immediately. In this job you will join a high performance team, working to expand our understanding of diabetes and progressing new treatment options.
About the department
Our department is part of the Diabetes Research Unit committed to the development of new pharmaceutical peptides and proteins to improve quality of life and treatment for diabetic patients. Situated in Måløv, the departments 8 researchers and 10 technicians employ state-of-the-art histology and imaging technologies to support both early and late stage projects with detection and quantitation of drug and drug receptors as well as efficacy and safety markers.
The job
You will be responsible for providing histological expertise to a diverse range of projects, with a particular focus on peptide drug candidates for oral and subcutaneous delivery. You will work in several different cross-departmental and cross-functional project teams where you will play an important role in expanding our current knowledge of the biology and pharmacology of a wide range of diabetes drug candidates.
Your main internal contacts in your daily work will be scientist colleagues, technicians and project members, as well as managers in Novo Nordisk R&D, mainly within the Diabetes Research Unit in Måløv. Developing and maintaining strong networks will be an important part of your work.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Life Sciences and has a strong experimental background within both basic histology and histological methods. Strong knowledge of the principles for validation of histology-based methods is essential. Image analysis expertise would be an advantage, along with experience with related software platforms. A candidate with a background in pharmacology and/or diabetes biology is preferred.
You are highly motivated to work in a result-oriented drug discovery environment. You are innovative, and have good interpersonal skills with a high sense of individual responsibility. Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with challenges in a direct and open manner are required.
