PURPOSE:
The Sr. Manager, CMR Training and Development will build and maintain significant partnerships with HRBPs and LoB Learning Leads and will be accountable for an integrated approach to learning needs analysis, design, development & delivery of annual learning plans, impact metrics and budget planning in full collaboration with TM and LoB Training partners. The position will lead the development of plans and implementation of strategies aimed at building organizational performance by collaborating with business partners to ensure there is a business context and developmental relevance of learning solutions through needs analysis and comprehensive solutions that incorporate end result evaluations regarding both leadership & functional competency development.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Engages extensively and proactively with Talent Management peers and senior leaders as a credible expert and thought partner to ensure high quality solutions.
External relationships include working with various vendors to supplement training needs.
Reports to the Director, CMR Training & Development
Works closely with Senior CMR LoB Leadership, LoB Learning Leads & SMEs and CMR HRBP team to understand, assess and provide solutions to development needs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
NEEDS ASSESSMENT/DESIGN/DELIVERY/PROGRAM EFFECTIVENESS EVALUATION: Collects necessary data to analyze problems with a clear frame of reference. Comes up with an initial assessment of the problem and reports back data to help the client see the issue from a systemic standpoint
Contracts with internal clients through the exploration of presenting problems and collaboratively decides on the initial steps to take to address the issues
Evaluates and purchases appropriate programs/materials from outside resources to fill training and development needs insuring that programs are customized to meet identified CMR Training & Development needs and align with existing NNI models, tools & resources already in use.
Manages the design, development and completion of training materials and updates as needed.
Provide overall strategic learning expertise, learning performance consulting, and high level learning program design for necessary leadership & management and functional skill priorities for the business
Supports the alignment, design, and delivery of leadership development programs, processes and resources for all CMR Leaders
Works closely with all Talent Management Personnel to ensure all programs and processes are aligned with COE programs and processes
Works with the client & HRBP to examine the data collected in regard to any situation and collaboratively works with the client to create a plan for change and partners with others in the organization to implement interventions

STRATEGIC TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Ensure alignment with business goals & objectives leading to a prioritized focus on learning time & spend annually
Explores external “best practices” and focuses on continuous improvement of all relevant training.
Identification, planning, and execution of learning initiatives targeting improved efficiencies, effectiveness, and potential selective integration opportunities
Interacts regularly with LoB and attends appropriate CMR LoB meetings to develop in-depth understanding of market, individual/local needs to ensure training is aligned with customer needs.
Lead specific CMR training initiatives – conducts “team” training needs analysis, designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates a CMR Department Training & Development Curriculum for all levels and related service personnel.
Liaise closely with other Talent Management and HR stakeholders to ensure key objectives and metrics for CMR Training & development are met.
Other projects as assigned in relation to Human Resources, Talent Management and CMR Training & Development
Oversees the management all phases of project management and coordination with vendors.
Proactively communicates updates when determined necessary based on best practices, benchmarking and changes in technology and field needs.
Works with external vendors to ensure best in class CMR Training and E-Learning provision.

TRAINING OTHER: Develops and monitors performance against department’s budgets. Ensures budgets remain on track.
Evaluates appropriate use of resources to ensure attainment of unit, department and Company profitability goals.
Explores external “best practices” and focuses on continuous improvement of all relevant training.
Utilizes Learning Management System to document, track, and report information on classes, individual learner and groups

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• A Bachelor’s degree required; Knowledge and application of Adult Learning and organizational concepts and theories
• A minimum of 10 years related experience required, including experience as a trainer/manager of training within Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry.
• A minimum of three (3) years Clinical, Medical and/or Regulatory experience preferred
• Consulting skills / impact and influence abilities
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering both virtual and live training programs to highly technical/scientific personnel.
• Excellent consultative / interpersonal skills.
• Executive presence - ability to impact and influence and interact with senior business leaders and partners. Experience in platform skills. Comfort level in formal presentation settings.
• Must have the ability to establish sound working relationships with diverse groups with differing levels of skills, background, and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Proven track record of performance results.
• Strong Program Management skills, ability to lead complex projects and pro-actively manage multiple deadlines and project priorities
