About the department
You will be a part of a department (Modelling and Optimisation) within Manufacturing Development (MDEV) in the Diabetes API area – which currently employs nine specialists, one chemist and two technicians. Manufacturing Development comprising more than 120 engaged employees and consists of 4 departments. The Modelling and Optimisation department works closely together with process and analytical support colleagues in Manufacturing Development, Diabetes API, and in the CMC API Production.

You will be part of a group of dedicated specialists who are keeping a close eye on process issues. We would like to strengthen our statistics competences in order to optimise the understanding of API manufacturing processes of modern insulin’s and other biosynthetic diabetes drugs.

We are located in Bagsværd just outside Copenhagen, Denmark.

The job
You will be responsible for statistical tasks and consultancy within Diabetes API, including statistical analyses, concluding on the results and reporting. You may become part of project-groups on productivity and quality improvements. You will take part in the development and teaching of specifically targeted statistical courses and seminars for employees across the organisation.

You will bridge the gap between theoretical understanding of statistics and practical use of statistics in large scale biosynthetic API production, and be responsible for developing and expanding these competences within Diabetes API.

Close contact with the manufacturing facilities in Kalundborg is an integral part of the job and some activities in Kalundborg is to expected.

Qualifications
You must have a strong background in mathematical statistics as M.Sc. (or Ph.D.) in Engineering or Statistics and good knowledge on IT-tools, including software packages for statistics. You should have good skills for cooperation and communication and an ability to keep the overview on complex matters and still work systematically with the tasks.

Relevant working experience with processes in pharmaceutical manufacturing is advantageous. Experience in six sigma philosophy will also be an advantage. You can use statistics to describe reality and translate theoretical understanding to financial results.

You have experience at PhD level or equivalent and can demonstrate results within statistics – preferably from a production environment. You have a minimum of three years experience from university, pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

As a person, you are inquisitive and dynamic with a positive attitude to new ideas. You have excellent communication skills to assist you in generating results working cross-functionally in all aspects of Diabetes API.

Key statistical tools to be used will be ANOVA, regression analysis, acceptance sampling, Design of Experiments and Statistical Process Control.
