PURPOSE:

This position will participate in the planning, development, implementation and administration of employee benefit programs, including leave benefits and ADA accommodations, wellness programs, work-life & voluntary benefits, and workers’ compensation benefits. Administer and provide analysis for all benefit programs in support of the Company business goals and initiatives. Develops and maintains open and positive communication with all internal and external contacts including other departments and outside organizations and agencies.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to the Associate Manager, Work-Life and Leave Administration. Interacts with all levels of the business. External relationships include interaction with benefits vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION
• Act as point of contact for the day-to-day operations of the Leave Administration Plans (including accommodations), Wellness programs and Work-Life and Voluntary Benefits including assisting in the vendor management of carriers, administrators and consultants.
• Provides input into the administration of disability, FMLA, LOAs and Workers Compensation, including disability accommodations.
• Handles disability accommodations by ensuring all requests are reviewed and adhere to the requirements of the Americans with Disability Act and EEOC regulations
• Oversees voluntary employee benefits; e.g. Critical Illness Insurance, Long-term Care Insurance, MetPay, Hyatt Legal, Pet Insurance, College Coach, Concierge Services, Daycare, and Back-up and Elder Care, including enrollment and communications.
• Maintains and fosters relationships with vendors to ensure timely and accurate services and communications in order to enhance the Company’s ability to deliver positive benefit services to our employees.
• Investigates escalated leave and voluntary/work-life benefit issues from HRBPs and vendors and works with them to implement solutions. Collects information, analyzes data, determines causes of issue, develops course of action and communicates facts/conclusions clearly and concisely.
• Contributes to plan analysis, strategy, design, benchmarking and reporting of benefit programs. This also includes the review of claims experience, utilization trends, program enrollment and the drafting of Executive Dashboards.
• Develops and provides continuous training on disability/Family leave/WC issues (i.e. state laws, FMLA, documentation, etc.) to ensure fair and legal practices regarding these issues.
• Plans and executes annual open enrollment for relevant benefits, including communications, coordination with external vendors and consultants.
• Ensures all leave documents are up-to-date and compliant with current and future legal, regulatory and compliance codes. Updates and maintains benefits content for NNI intranet/Globeshare website.
• Creates and maintains Benefits department news on Globeshare.
• Leads in the preparation of creative benefit communication strategies that enhance competitive advantage in the attraction and retention of top talent.
• Maintain a creative and engaging work/life balance program, including the Globeshare site.
• Plans and executes all wellness initiatives, including coordinating activities with external vendors and vendor management
• Works closely with wellness solution vendor to develop and recommend wellness campaigns and challenges (including rollout of HRA, biometric screenings) and create wellness communications
• Acts as a wellness champion and plays pivotal role on wellness committee
• Recommend, implement, and oversee new work/life balance initiatives throughout the year based on employees/Company’s needs and research.
• Utilizes various communications media and new technology to broaden awareness and appreciation of all benefits offerings.
• Measures vendor services and activities against contract and performance measurements and ensures that processes are optimized.
• Contributes to the development and evaluation of Request for Proposals (RFPs, from respective program vendors.
• Applies continuous improvement practices by assessing current processes and procedures and providing recommendations for best practice applications and by eliminating non-value add activities.
• Work with HRBPs, HRIS/HRIT teams, Payroll and AskHR to ensure employee data integrity is maintained in order to support accurate interfaces.
• Complies with Federal and individual States benefit data requests
• Oversees process for the annual OSHA summary log and report.
• Assists with budget development, monthly accruals and variance reporting.
• Oversees Workplace Flexibility program, including implementing and communicating to employees and managers. Reviews program to ensure
• Attends POA meetings, Share Fairs and conducts benefit presentations as requested.
• Acts as a technical resource and subject matter expert to the HRBPs and act as Tier2/3 responder for escalated leave and voluntary/work-life benefits questions. Proactively works with AskHR team to train staff on leave and voluntary/work-life benefits changes, new programs, etc. to ensure that employee inquiries are directed to the appropriate vendors.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Bachelor degree required; relevant experience and/or certification in specialized HR function may be substituted for degree, when appropriate. CEBS, PHR, SPHR, or CBP certification preferred.
• Requires a minimum of six years of experience working in Benefits; HR experience preferred; Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus.
• Expertise in the Family Medical Leave Act (Federal and State), and Federal and State employment law, specifically the Americans with Disabilities Act, required
• Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, required. Prior financial or budgetary experience preferred.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of and exposure to design, development and administration of leave and voluntary/work-life benefit programs.
• Must have strong analysis/problem solving abilities with a proven ability to pay close attention to details and show strong initiative
• Must be able to effectively work independently and in a team environment utilizing a high degree of professionalism, autonomy and maturity in working with customers, peers, and managers.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet challenging and changing deadlines.
• Sound judgment/decision making skills.
• Must have a positive demeanor and be highly dependable and motivated.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
• Ability to effectively manage projects.
