Purpose:
Responsible for leading NNI to develop effective organizations at every level to enable the accomplishment of NNI’s ambition, this leadership role focuses on opportunities to drive strategy execution through executive level, multi-dimensional, cross-functional and enterprise-wide initiatives and by driving a culture and mind set around continuous improvement and innovation. Based on the core components of an effective organization including strong leadership, clear strategy, values based culture, optimized processes, aligned structure, and high performing individuals and teams, the individual will be challenged to leverage multidisciplinary expertise in organization effectiveness, organization development, LEAN/ continuous improvement, project management, and change management to enable success.

Relationships:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Organization Effectiveness, Novo Nordisk Inc., the Director of OE, OD, and Change Management leads, manages, coaches, and consults with project teams and advises senior leadership on complex strategic corporate initiatives. The role reports periodically to functional leadership teams and the Executive Team and advises and partners with HRBPs. External relationships include other Novo Nordisk global functions and affiliates, consultants, vendors, and professional associations/ organizations.

Essential Functions:

Achieves Organization Effectiveness
• Drives the process and partners with VP and above business leaders to identify and prioritize opportunities, diagnose and develop recommendations, implement and sustain organization effectiveness solutions aligned with and impacting the execution of the business strategy.
• Builds and provides visibility of the pipeline of continuous improvement and organization development opportunities and potential projects.
• Consults, supports, coaches, and facilitates customized continuous improvement, LEAN, OD, project management and change management strategies and solutions that build leader and organization capability and drive sustainable change
• Works jointly with cross-functional teams to create, plan, deploy, and manage large scale, enterprise-wide programs.
• Builds strong partnerships with HR Business Partners
• Provides coaching and consulting to leaders and their teams on strategy development, organization assessment, organizational structure, process improvement, team cohesiveness, employee engagement, and culture integration.
• Develops and executes change management strategies to support OE initiatives and other enterprise-wide or functional efforts.
• Evaluates program effectiveness through the development of key metrics to evaluate actual results and impact
• Establishes common company-wide OD/ OE & Change Management frameworks and supporting tools and training
• Proactively keeps abreast of the latest developments within LEAN and OD
• Connects and coordinates with other NN units to support leadership in driving organization effectiveness.

Analyses & Interprets Data
• Develops analytical strategies and/or metrics to understand business problems, identify opportunities for improvement, monitor performance, and assess the effectiveness of programs, practices, and improvements.
• Provide guidance on developing appropriate KPIs aligned to functional objectives and identifying tangible leading metrics to ensure success
• Integrates stakeholder perspectives in order to structure and guide analyses that support decision making, planning, and process improvements
• Ensures a holistic approach to validating root issues and priorities.

Influences Key Stakeholders
• Partners with senior business leaders (VPs and above) in overseeing and managing OD and cLEAN initiatives
• Demonstrates the ability to influence expectations of executive level stakeholders to produce desired effects on behaviors and business outcomes
• Ensures knowledge sharing and exchange within and across departments as well as internationally with relevant NN A/S corporate offices and affiliates
• Works in close collaboration with the HRBPs to ensure alignment with business , people priorities, and OE strategies and tactics

Project and Change Management
• Identifies business case and associated metrics
• Ensures project plans are developed and executed for each initiative.
• Tracks and updates project milestones, provides progress reports, and helps to identify and resolve issues.
• Advises line management to ensure projects are well planned, executed, and sustained
• Analyzes data, designs solutions, and implements improvements
• Creates comprehensive change management plans to enable implementation and sustainability of recommendations.
• Ensures that change plans focus on leadership advocacy, engagement of stakeholders, on-going communications, manager coaching, development of training as needed, and reinforcement plans throughout a project with an eye toward decreasing resistance and positively accelerating change to meet short and long term business objectives
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting the tangible benefits for major OE projects and initiatives
Additional Information Delivers Training Programs and Solutions
• Facilitates cLEAN Academy programs, Organization Development Practitioner programs, and Change Management Basics in partnership with OE team and extended team facilitators.
• Effectively translates complex and technical information for learners to foster development and transfer of training
• Provides coaching post training to drive learner performance, transfer of learning, and achievement of objectives and goals
• Trains HRBPs and more junior OE team members on OE/OD/ Change Management techniques and coach them to provide OE/OD solutions to their clients

Key Success Factors: Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree in Organization Behavior/Organization Development/Organization Effectiveness, Engineering, Business Administration preferred
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive and related experience preferably in the pharmaceutical/ healthcare industry.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in one or more areas directly related to the role (continuous improvement, organization development, managing/ leading change, LEAN transformation, organization design, team effectiveness, coaching/ advising)
• Demonstrated experience with large, complex, and/or enterprise wide operational effectiveness, organization development, continuous improvement (CI), LEAN business process re-engineering, or LEAN Six Sigma projects that were effective and sustainable.
• Strong diagnostic and analytical skills with a deep curiosity of organizational systems leading to the delivery of practical and innovative recommendations or solutions. Demonstrated ability to translate these into a business case.
• Excellent project management or portfolio management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables, even in the face of some level of ambiguity from senior leadership, by leveraging sound planning and organizational skills
• Demonstrated experience as a “thought leader” sought after for advice, counsel, and judgment.
• Displays an expert level of critical thinking in applying principles, theories and concepts on a wide range of problems.
• Consulting experience, internal or external, is a plus.
• Experience in developing communication plans and drafting communications is a plus.
• Experience in the design, development, and implementation of learning interventions is a plus.
• Demonstrated success working as an integral business partner with senior leadership and their direct reports to drive business results
• Demonstrated ability in understanding strategy and developing tactical plans to effectively implement that strategy. Brings a strategic mindset to the table.
• Relationship building and influence skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of a matrixed organization. Strong networking capability.

• Demonstrated platform skills utilized in facilitating workshops and stakeholder sessions.
• Proven leadership/ collaboration skills with the ability to influence others and drive change throughout the organization
