Requisition ID 43767BR<br/>Title Project Manager- Project Management & Business Performance<br/>Job Category Project Management<br/>Job Description Purpose<br/>Provide support to the business activities of Clinical Development, Medical & Regulatory Affairs (CMR)by leading high complexity, multi discipline projects. Leverage project management skills to guide and lead the business toward reaching its desired destination. Provide high-impact delivery of strategic initiatives that assist senior leadership, realize business benefits, avoid unnecessary cost, identify new opportunities and/or efficiencies.<br/><br/>Relationships<br/>This position reports to the Director of Project Management & Business Performance in Strategy and Operational Effectiveness and has close interaction with the Senior/Executive Director of Strategy & Operational Effectiveness (SOE) and with the CMR Leadership Team, and with the SVP of CMR. The position is accountable for managing multiple internal cross-departmental relationships, including leadership team members in CMR and key stakeholders in the US and Global Development. External relationships include managing consultants, vendors, and service providers.<br/><br/>Essential Functions<br/>BUSINESS ANALYSIS:<br/>• Analyzes and interprets the needs of the business and translates these into requirements for improving the overall business.<br/>• Develops metrics to monitor performance, improvements, and benefit to the organization.<br/>• Gathers data from various sources, and assimilates it as necessary in order to deliver consistent communications and analyses.<br/>• Obtains benchmark data from industry and continuously enhances and applies best practices.<br/>• Produces and accurately interprets critical measurements with respect to the overall performance of the organization to support sustainable business improvements.<br/>COACHING:<br/>• Coaches and develops project team and department members to improve overall business performance.<br/>• Provides guidance to more junior team members as needed.<br/>COMMUNICATION:<br/>• Accelerates adoption of improvement efforts throughout the organization by training and coaching business managers and project teams in the use of process improvement tools and analysis techniques.<br/>• Educates organization on how portfolio efforts complement current business strategies.<br/>• Uses consultative approach to learn opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.<br/>• Ensures that effective cross-functional communication is in place that allows for timely attainment of project milestones and effective resolution of issues.<br/>PROJECT MANAGEMENT:<br/>• Contributes to projects with innovative ideas and recommendations and drives others to innovate. Derives critical measurements (KPIs) and presents these as potential opportunities for ongoing process improvement.<br/>• Ensures that project milestones and available resources are tracked and updated and that issues are identified and resolved.<br/>• Ensures that project plans are developed and executed for each initiative.<br/>• Ensures that project teams apply appropriate process improvement tools and analytical techniques.<br/>• Helps line management ensure improvements are sustained.<br/>• Oversees collection and analysis of data, identifies trends and solutions, implements improvements and ensures sustainability of business improvements over time.<br/>• Provides and receives constructive feedback and guidance on project strategies, analyses and deliverables.<br/>• Supports the assessment and revision of the relevant processes and procedures in their area of expertise.<br/>STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT:<br/>• Assists the management team through influence and partnerships to ensure successful collaboration and the realization of organizational goals.<br/>• Communicates process changes to stakeholders.<br/>• Leads communications with multiple functional areas to ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables are clearly understood.<br/>• Leads working group meetings to ensure clear communication and follow-through on process and deliverables within the approved budget and timeframe.<br/>• Manages relationships with, and support from, external vendors.<br/>• Provides value to internal stakeholders through effective communication, follow-up and delivery.<br/>• Uses subject matter/functional expertise, influence and relationship skills to help define, prioritize and deliver projects.<br/>STRATEGY:<br/>• Consults with leadership in making decisions that impact other stakeholders.<br/>• Contributes to CMR and SOE business development by identifying opportunities to support improved business performance throughout the organization.<br/>• Contributes to the short-term planning of team and departmental goals and KPIs.<br/>• Establishes own priorities and selects tools and approaches for workload.<br/>• Continues to evaluate and integrate supplemental project management and problem solving tools and methodologies as appropriate.<br/>• Participates in creation of the CMR business plan, integrating and aligning with the overall Novo Nordisk North American and global business planning process, annual Balanced Score Card, Budgeting, etc.<br/><br/>Physical Requirements<br/>• 0-10% overnight travel required.<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/>• A Bachelors degree (health, science, finance, or legal related field preferred) plus a minimum of 8 years related experience; Masters degree preferred.<br/>• A minimum one (1) year of project team leadership experience.<br/>• Demonstrated computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).<br/>• Knowledgeable of drug development and GCP principles preferred.<br/>• Proficient in use of project planning software applications (e.g., Microsoft Project).<br/>• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, cross-functional team and leadership skills.<br/>Department CMR - PROJECT MGT & BUSINESS PERFORMANCE<br/>Position Location US - Princeton, NJ<br/>City Plainsboro<br/>State/Provinces US - NJ
