Novo Nordisk is currently building a new diabetes API plant in Clayton, NC next to our existing facility that employs 800 people. The new plant will initially employ 700 employees to produce the active ingredients for a new diabetes oral treatment and a range of other diabetes drugs.<br/><br/>Novo Nordisk is currently seeking top talent for this green field project and eventual operations. This once in a life-time career opportunity is ideal for manufacturing professionals who not only understand the operational complexities of manufacturing but also have the desire and drive to help us design and build. Here you will work with the best manufacturing professionals in the industry, while learning and taking part in the plant design.<br/><br/>Position Purpose: Direct oversight of engineering design, implementation & maintenance of life safety systems including card access control, CCTV, fire protection & process safety information systems (SIS).<br/><br/>Education: BS\BA degree in engineering, safety, or automation. Mandatory<br/><br/>Experience:<br/>* 5 years in contract management or project coordination.<br/>* 3 years in oversight of regulated security programs.<br/>* 3 years in oversight of life safety systems including fire protection.<br/>* 1 year experience developing technical specifications (TS), User requirement specifications (URS) and validation protocols.<br/><br/>Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge:<br/>* Knowledge of life safety code & systems. Mandatory<br/>* Working knowledge of fire detection/suppression/prevention systems.<br/>* Basic knowledge of OSHA process safety management (PSM) regulations.<br/>* Knowledge of security systems & regulated programs.<br/>* Contract negotiations/contract management.<br/>* Management of various fulltime contractors.<br/>* Participation in emergency response teams.<br/>* Pharmaceutical experience a plus.<br/>* Good communication & writing skills. Mandatory<br/>* Knowledge of validation processes and execution of protocols.<br/><br/>Organization/Planning: Able to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets.<br/><br/>Physical & Other Requirements:<br/>* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.<br/>* Ability to work in areas with odors/hazardous materials.<br/>* Ability to work in & around an active construction site during project phase.<br/>* Ability to move throughout the facility in the performance of duties in proximity to process equipment & areas.<br/>* Available to work hours necessary to support production & maintenance activities.<br/>* Service attitude: Demonstrates a “How can I help you today!” attitude.<br/><br/>Additional Information Accountabilities:<br/>* Develop User Requirements to support design of Life Safety Systems and participate in cross functional interfaces, reviews and FATs.<br/>* Manage life safety systems implemented in accordance with applicable federal, state, local & NN standards & policies.<br/>* Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties.<br/>* Negotiate & manage contracts for services while improving value.<br/>* Manage contract services & maintenance contracts for applicable systems.<br/>* Responsible for all preventative maintenance and change control on life critical components & systems.<br/>* Participate with spill response & first aid teams.<br/>* Provide back up support for process safety management & fire protection systems.<br/>* Other accountabilities as assigned.<br/><br/>Department DAPI US - EHS<br/>Position Location US - Clayton, NC<br/>City Clayton<br/>State/Provinces US - NC <br/><br/>At Novo Nordisk, we know that driving change on a global level and improving treatment outcomes for people with diabetes and other chronic diseases begins here at home.
