Requisition ID 44849BR<br/>Title Associate Director, Strategic Projects - Executive Office<br/>Job Category Project Management<br/>Job Description PURPOSE:<br/>This position supports the Novo Nordisk North American Executive Office with preparation of EVP’s external presentations as well as ad-hoc key deliverables and provides financial perspective on business decisions. This includes driving strategic projects independently on behalf of the Executive Office and/or the President.<br/><br/>RELATIONSHIPS:<br/>The position reports to the Vice President of North America Executive Office, and interacts / liaises regularly with the Executive Vice President, Novo Nordisk, Inc. (NNI), the NNI Executive Team and the Novo Nordisk Canada, Inc. (NNCI) Executive Team, as well as other senior stakeholders in Denmark Headquarters, within as well as outside the Novo Nordisk organization, to achieve initiative goals and priorities<br/><br/>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br/>* Prepares content for Executive Vice Presidents’s external presentations (for example Board of Directors, Executive Management-ExecMan, Senior Management Board-ManBoard, and/or Investor Relations meetings)<br/>* Supports/drives Business Plan process for North America Operations<br/>* Supports Executive Office with ad-hoc key deliverables and provides financial perspective on business decisions<br/>* Prepares Business Review Meetings (BRM) with Denmark Headquarters and Business Management Meetings with NNCI<br/>* Identifies opportunities for simplifying existing strategic and governance processes and secure firm implementation<br/>* Drives and executes complex strategic projects for the Executive Vice President, by combining external insights and executive management thinking to propose new initiatives for Novo Nordisk<br/>* Drives and executes complex strategic projects in close collaboration with North America Consulting and/or similar Denmark-based Headquarters functions<br/>* Supports/drives projects supporting the operation of NNCI (e.g. within Finance, Marketing, Sales, Quality and IT)<br/>* Represents and governs interests of North America Operations in various global projects within various areas throughout the value chain<br/><br/>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<br/>* Approx. 15% overnight travel required<br/><br/>DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE:<br/>* Not applicable<br/><br/>QUALIFICATIONS:<br/>* A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in a relevant area (Business or Finance) is highly preferred<br/>* A minimum of seven (7) years’ of relevant progressive business experience is required, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, with emphasis on strategic marketing and/or a solid sales or marketing affiliate experience<br/>* Must have commercial and strategic business understanding at an expert level<br/>* A deep understanding of processes and corporate structures (e.g. an ability to quickly gain understanding and see opportunities to simplify/optimize activities) is required<br/>* Experience managing interfaces with different parts of the organization is required<br/>* Profound knowledge of Operations and supporting senior management decision processes is required<br/>* Previous working experience with key processes (e.g., global launch planning, SPP, brand strategies, market access, assessment of early compounds) is required<br/>* Previous experience from a headquarters’ perspective is preferred<br/>* Experience gained from global projects and either regional or local projects is preferred<br/>* A commercial background with proven abilities in strategy development, market analysis, launch execution and strategy implementation is preferred<br/>* Must have the ability to effectively prioritize, execute and follow-up in a timely manner, anticipating problems and roadblocks<br/>* Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills for executive level communication and collaboration<br/>* Must have strong analytical capabilities and ability to synthesize complex information into simplified, user-friendly, persuasive formats and presentations<br/>* Must have strong cross-functional business understanding of the pharmaceutical industry<br/>* Must have excellent analytical skills<br/>* Must have strong insight and the ability to analyze organizational needs and drivers as well as the drivers for both the current business and future growth<br/>* Must have solid stakeholder management skills<br/>* Must possess a compliance and quality mind-set<br/>* Must be result-oriented, possess a strong drive and ability to take initiative proactively<br/><br/>Department North America - Office<br/>Position Location US - Plainsboro, NJ<br/>City Plainsboro, NJ<br/>State/Provinces US - NJ <br/><br/>At Novo Nordisk, we know that driving change on a global level and improving treatment outcomes for people with diabetes and other chronic diseases begins here at home.
