Requisition ID 45578BR<br/>Title Senior Manager- Publications<br/>Job Category Medical<br/>Job Description Purpose:<br/>The Senior Manager - Publications is responsible for driving the development of the NNI publication strategy, and managing and overseeing the execution of the NNI publication plan(s) across therapies and therapeutic areas. This position operates independently or with minimal direction and leverages his/her technical experience and understanding of the organization and its processes to guide the successful completion of key publications.<br/><br/>Relationships:<br/>This position reports to a Medical Writing Director within Medical Writing & Education (MWE). The Senior Manager – Publication is expected to develop and utilize a network of internal relationships with local and global cross-functional study and publication teams, and colleagues from medical writing, medical affairs, clinical development, discovery, regulatory affairs, as well as commercial colleagues from market access and marketing. The Senior Manager - Publication is also expected to network effectively with external resources (e.g., investigators and authors) and work closely with external vendors, stakeholders and agencies.<br/><br/>Essential Functions:<br/>GENERAL:<br/>• Works independently with minimal direction; periodic review of progress and results is conducted by his/her own manager.<br/>• Functions at a proficient level; demonstrates leadership qualities.<br/>• May lead cross-functional project teams locally and/or globally.<br/>• May act as a project leader with own manager oversight.<br/>• Has the ability to identify and resolve problems related to publication projects, processes or tasks, with management support as needed. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies.<br/>• Acts as a key contact point for publication activities for internal and external stakeholders<br/>• Provides guidance/conducts training of internal and external stakeholders on publication planning and processes.<br/>• Engages directly with external HCPs/KOLs.<br/>• Applies his/her experience to the quality assessment of documents.<br/>• Thorough knowledge of external publication guidelines, SOPs, NN guidelines, governance and CIA; Understands and revises procedures to conform to guidelines and legislation that may impact publications. Educates others as needed.<br/>• Remains current with respect to the literature on Novo Nordisk therapeutic areas and competitor products.<br/>PUBLICATIONS:<br/>• Drives the development and update of NNI publication strategies and publication plans for each therapeutic area in alignment with global and NNI medical strategies and publication plans<br/>• Drives the execution and reporting of publication plan activities<br/>• Interacts with local and global publication groups, journals, editors, authors, and others as necessary to ensure the successful completion of publication projects.<br/>• As needed, prepares and reviews manuscripts, meeting abstracts, scientific poster presentations, and other documents necessary for publication support.<br/>• May be responsible for planning author meetings.<br/>• Participate as needed in PPG functions, follow up on meetings, proposals etc.<br/>• Contributes to publication communication, e.g. Newsletter, announcements, etc.<br/>• Plan, manage and track author engagements in HCP Rex, Datavision<br/>• Advanced level of system use of PROPOSE, Datavision, DV Clear, Medical Toolbox etc.<br/>• Manage, track and report publication budget and vendor deliverables.<br/><br/>Physical Requirements:<br/>• 10-20% overnight travel required.<br/><br/>Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:<br/>• An MS, MD or PhD in a Life Science or a PharmD required.<br/>• CMPP preferred but not required.<br/>• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in pharma or a medical communication agency required with a PhD, MD or PharmD, and 6 years of relevant experience with an MS.<br/>• Demonstrated proficiency and experience in the preparation of publications.<br/>• General understanding of regulatory requirements and drug development processes.<br/>• Demonstrated proficiency in the use and understanding of computer software (e.g., word processing, graphics, document management).<br/>Department CMR - MEDICAL WRITING & EDUCATION<br/>Position Location US - Princeton, NJ<br/>City Princeton<br/>State/Provinces US - NJ
