Job Description PURPOSE:
• Leads the Launch Office team and execution of Launch Office team’s deliverables.
• Oversees NNI cross-functional pre-launch/launch planning process, led by Launch Office Senior Project Manager including pressure testing each functional strategy and plans against best practices, identifying & managing interdependencies across functions and across global & NNI.
• Drives NNI Launch Readiness overall governance and decision making process, gives input to specific workstream/project governance and decision making.
• Work closely with Global Obesity Launch Office Director to drive long term SPP strategies, product business plans and marketing strategies (this includes providing input and challenges, updating relevant NNI Launch team members of any updates & key milestones).
• Prepares executive information sharing materials and recommendations within area of responsibility for US Working Group, ET, Executive Leadership, Global CCT, Global Project team and other relevant Executive bodies.

RELATIONSHIPS:
• Manages 2 direct reports: Senior Project Manager and Business Support Coordinator.
• Reports to the Vice President Obesity Launch Team and works closely with VP’s direct reports, other Obesity Project team’s Leaders, stakeholders in other departments, US governance/HQ stakeholders, and Executive team members. External relationships include those with consultants, vendors, potential partners and key customers.
• The position will be a member of the Obesity Leadership team.
• Work collaboratively across functions (Regulatory, Medical, Marketing, Market Access, Market Shaping, Legal, FFE, Sales, CE and Logistics) areas with NNI and Global Functional area (Marketing, Medical, Launch office, Product Supply and Market Access) stakeholders and Project Managers to ensure alignment and execution of pre-launch and launch plans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Launch Office:
• Defines and drives NNI Launch Office direction, goals, priorities and deliverables; manages Launch Office capacity.
• Manages, develops and appraises direct reports.
• Ensures department processes and compliance to Novo Nordisk management practices including people management, quality management and OH&S

Launch Planning:
• Oversees NNI pre-launch/launch business planning (pre-launch guidance, KPIs, activities as well as challenge and approval process), including planning and organizing training and events for NNI Obesity Project team members as necessary – in close collaboration with Brand team/Market Access and Medical Affairs and other relevant functions.
• Prepares and manages NNI funding, investment and BSC targets and financial scenario planning.
• Identifies strategic issues through execution of launch tracker. Provides innovative business solutions or opportunities in collaboration with Obesity Leadership team.
• Supervises NNI launch readiness tracking process with cross-functional/NNI status reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Leads budget planning and controlling for Obesity Project for NNI.

Launch Strategy:
• Provides strategic feedback and leadership support for the execution of the Product Supply launch track and facilitate integration in overall pre-launch strategy.
• Provides strategic feedback and leadership support for the development of the overall pre-launch strategy and plan.
• Responsible for successful Scenario Planning, Risk and Mitigation Planning.
• Provides executive presentations for executive decision.

Obesity Strategy:
• Leads coordination of deliverables for Strategic Planning Process, Marketing Strategies, project review, etc. for Obesity and ensures aligned input on market/financial assumptions.
• Delivers ad-hoc business analysis supporting decision making.

Project Management:
• Supports decision processes and stakeholder management with Vice President, e.g., preparing project documents and recommendations for US Working Group, Market Approach StC, Executive Team, Global CCT and others executive groups.
• Helps and gives input to Global Obesity Launch Director in coordinating Global CCT governance, agenda planning and meeting execution

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Approximately 30% overnight travel.

DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE:
• Ensure that reporting personnel have 3P forms with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.
• Ensure that the IDP forms include completed Learning and Aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.
• Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way of Management.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Must excel in all areas of strategy development and execution including: project management, business analysis, problem solving, executive communication and consensus building.
• At least 10+ years of related experience in in the health care, life science, or pharmaceutical businesses
• Leadership experience in enhancing matrix organization efficiencies and performance through innovative and strategic solutions.
• Diverse experience in commercial roles such as marketing, sales, B2B or managed markets.
• 3+ years of Project management experience with a track record of leading complex cross-functional projects including HQ, affiliates and vendors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
• Knowledge of the Obesity therapeutic area, Novo Nordisk products and programs are preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to develop hypotheses, identify analysis required, analyze to determine key issues and opportunities and make recommendations that reflect a solid understanding of the larger business context and the objectives and strategies of the organization.
• Strong implementation skills through formal and informal channels.
• A Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree or MBA highly preferred.
• Ability to work well under pressure and facilitate process and decision making across a variety of stakeholder interest.
• Demonstrates understanding of business complexity, opportunities and challenges and proactively provides solutions to address those.
• Track record of negotiation and conflict management capability.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management commercial models is preferred.
