Job Description Position Purpose:
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, administration, and improvement of selected information systems and platforms.
Education: BS degree in related field with minimum one yr. related experience or minimum 5 yr. direct experience.
Experience:
•Experience with software development concepts including knowledge of at least one programming language.
•Good organizational skills.
•Proven problem solving skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Knowledge of FDA regulations and guidelines as they relate to computer-based information systems.
•Excellent organizational skills.
Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge:
•Trouble-shoot, diagnose, resolve and document equipment/system problems using root-cause analysis and other Six Sigma tools.
•Perform project implementation and management tasks, including needs assessment, market surveys, specification development, system implementation and training for various information technology, telecommunication technology projects in accordance with established procedures.
•Perform life-cycle system development tasks
•Execute continuous improvement projects on IT and related systems.
•Operate under FDA regulations and guidelines as they relate to computer-based information and automation systems.
•Perform computer system operation and administration tasks of multi-user computer systems including user security administration, training, backup, restoration, system software updates, performance monitoring, problem determination and resolution.
•Maintain telecommunication systems including PABX, Voice-Mail, and PA systems.
•Knowledge and/or experience with relational database products, database access tools and client-server computing platforms.
•Knowledge of computer networking protocols and networking equipment.
•Preferred technologies include: Windows 2003/2000/NT Server, Red Hat Linux, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SMS, NetApp file servers, CISCO networking equipment, CISCO VOIP
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
Ability to work in confined spaces and near operation equipment.
Ability to work in moderate to loud noise environments.
Ability to work hours necessary to support production and maintenance activities. Interface with all departments to obtain/relay information.
Develop contacts with outside vendors and contractors
