About the department
Corporate Alliance Management (CAM) is committed to securing the long term value of Novo Nordisk’s R&D partnerships with universities, small biotech and larger pharmaceutical companies by building and maintaining sustainable alliances. We collaborate closely with our alliance partners, projects teams and our stakeholders within R&D, BD, Legal, Patents, Finance, Commercial operations, affiliates and other relevant areas. CAM is a part of Corporate Development. Our new Alliance Director will be working out of Novo Nordisk’s headquarter in Bagsværd, join a dynamic and ambitious team of five alliance professionals with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotech industry and report to the Head of Corporate Alliance Management.
The job
As Alliance Director you are responsible for managing a portfolio of alliances by monitoring and executing contractual obligations, maintaining an interactive relation with the external party and the internal teams. Included in your tasks are project progress reporting, preparation of partner strategic recommendations to senior management and risk mitigation plans. You will also be responsible for handling of conflict resolutions and negotiate amendments and terminations. You will work cross functionally with our internal stakeholders in coordinating activities ensuring that Novo Nordisk comply with our diligence obligations towards our partners and in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way of Alliance Management - guiding principles for operating and behaving when interacting with external parties.
Qualifications
You need to have a scientific background at MSc or PhD level, combined with significant commercial/ financial understanding at MBA level and be confident in reading, understanding and translating contracts into action deliverables.You are expected to demonstrate relevant experience working at least 10 years in the Life Science/ Pharmaceutical industry preferably with Alliance Management or Business Development/Licensing and used to handling multi-complex issues.As a person you are engaged, proactive and accountable. You work structured and diligently individually as in teams. You have an outgoing positive attitude and a well-developed sense of fairness. You communicate fluently in English and are used to communicate in large audiences.
