About the department
The job is located in Novo Nordisk Research & Development area in department Chemical Development. In Chemical Development Laboratories you will find 12 highly skilled and motivated colleagues, who constantly challenge themselves to create and upscale robust chemical processes.Our main responsibility is to develop and strengthen chemical processes to secure production for either pre-clinical or clinical studies. We do so in close collaboration with the research unit as well as the pilot facilities manufacturing the proteins used for clinical trials.
The job
It will be your responsibility to plan and carry out laboratory experiments within chemical process development, transfer processes to pilot, and generate relevant technical documentation. Key scientific disciplines include organic synthesis, solid phase peptide synthesis and chemical modification of recombinant peptides and proteins. The progress of the project will be discussed internally in the team but also in projects groups which you will be part of when relevant.
Qualifications
You hold a PhD in organic chemistry, chemical engineering, physical chemistry or similar and have 5-10 years of practical experience in organic synthesis and chemical modification of peptides and proteins. In addition, practical experience within the field of crystallization, flow chemistry and polymer chemistry is an advantage. Basic knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical development is expected. Furthermore, an innovative mind set being able to convert theory to practical solutions is expected from the candidates as is excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to be both a team player and independently drive complicated development projects forward.
