Job Description PURPOSE:
This role serves as a Senior Analyst of mobile applications. This position requires knowledge and experience in the development, deployment, and support of mobile applications using HTML5, iOS, and other common platforms. They are responsible for leveraging business and industry knowledge to develop, implement and maintain the mobile applications platform in alignment with Novo Nordisk and IT objectives.

RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Manager, IT Client Services and interacts with other members of IT operations, IT Project Execution, IT System Management, line of business system owners, and outside vendors/development partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Development of Mobile Applications:
• Demonstrates an advanced understanding of mobile applications and their development.
• Utilizes advanced knowledge of mobile applications to provide new solutions to complex client business needs.
• Serves as the liaison between development vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure applications developed are within technical standards and guidelines.
• Develops/codes and coordinates deployment of internal mobile applications.
Understands & Applies Risk Management Practices:
• Creates technical standards related to architecture, security, and support of mobile applications.
• Stays abreast of best practices and oversees the translation of those changes into processes, projects and systems.
• Maintains standards in line with changes in the marketplace and technology.
• Communicates and enforces standards with relevant stakeholders.
Develops & Maintains Systems, Applications & Infrastructure:
• Works cross-functionally to develop, implement and coordinate all testing approaches to ensure applications operate correctly and business needs are met.
• Develops and maintains centralized infrastructure and API components for IT services, such as authentication, data storage, and access control.
• Ensures new projects and initiatives are supported within centralized application infrastructure.
• Champions recommendations and improvements to applications and process performance and functionality.
• Evaluates new technology and recommends and implements technologies that are aligned with business needs.
Applications Governance:
• Maintains the registry of deployed applications.
• Manages application lifecycle; including regular reviews and renewals of applications and mobile content.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Approximately 5% overnight travel

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• A BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field required. Solid relevant experience may be substituted when appropriate.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible programming/applications development experience with 2+ years of experience developing applications for a mobile platform (HTML5, iOS, Blackberry or Android) required.
• Ability to lead a project in the development and implementation of processes and programs.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong internal relationships.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of an application development team.
• Expert knowledge of 2-3 programming languages (HTML5, Objective C, Java, etc.) and enterprise class application development tools required.
• Understanding of application integration into systems.
