We are looking for a new senior colleague in our Process Support team. We are facing increasing demand of our product, and therefore we have to optimize the production of growth hormone in every possible way. You should have a good understanding of the relation between production process and production facility. You can look forward to tasks that vary from daily production with complex problem solving to challenging validation with regulatory impact.

About the department
Our department covers the complete API manufacturing process, from fermentation and recovery to liquid purification and freeze drying. We are organized in four teams, where two teams cover production (fermentation and purification) and two support teams. One support team handling process support and one team handling equipment and IT.

The job
As a senior support chemist, you will facilitate that fermentation and recovery processes runs smoothly with timely release of batches. You will spend time on the shop-floor, knowing that being close to the process and the operators will help you solving problems early and effectively. You never compromise on quality, since being in compliance with SOP’s and cGMP is our license to operate. You also set direction for production optimization and sparring with junior colleagues. Successful passage of FDA inspections will be an important milestone for you and the rest of the department. You will also get various tasks in the following areas: inoculation, fermentation, centrifugation, recovery, filtration, cleaning and sterilization. Being a chemist in our department you will have a comprehensive job with responsibility for quality, production, and problem-solving.

Qualifications
You hold a PhD or M.Sc. with ten years’ experience in pharmaceutical production. You thrive in a cGMP environment and have a strong mind-set for quality and compliance. Preferably you have LEAN experience. As a person you can stay focused in a sometimes busy working day and you always approach tasks and colleagues with a positive attitude and energy. You are analytical and work in a structural way and are used to deliver according to deadlines. The ideal candidate has solid knowledge in large scale fermentation and recovery, cleaning in place, sterilization and has experience with qualification and validation.
