Research Scientist, Immunoassay Specialist
- Research & Development
- Denmark - Måløv
Department of Screening and Cell Technology is seeking a talented and dynamic research scientist with a strong background within assay methodologies.
About the Department
The department is part of the Immunotechnology area of the Novo Nordisk Biopharmaceuticals Research Unit (BRU) located in Måløv, Denmark. Currently, the department consists of 9 scientists and 10 technicians all highly skilled in development and implementation of a range of advanced immunochemical, chromogenic and cellular screening assays supporting identification of therapeutic protein candidates for a broad span of haemophilia and inflammation projects.
The Job
The research and discovery work within BRU is organized in multidisciplinary project teams and you will contribute to several projects as an expert within the early phases of therapeutic protein identification. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of efficient and robust screening assays with focus on advanced tailor-made screening assays enabling selection of therapeutic monoclonal antibody and protein candidates with pre-defined properties. In your daily work you will collaborate closely with project teams, department scientists and 1-2 laboratory technicians. The working environment in BRU is dynamic and innovative and often involves interactions with colleagues from research sites in USA and China, with an excellent opportunity to establish a strong scientific network.
Qualifications
You hold a Ph.D. in biochemistry, immunology, biology or related discipline with additional postdoctoral training. You have solid theoretical knowledge and practical skills in assay technologies, in particular immunoassays such as ELISA and AlphaLisa/LOCI. Besides, experience with chromogenic and fluorogenic assays as well as performance of assays using automated systems, including Hamilton microlab STAR liquid handling workstations, is an absolute advantage. You are an innovative and results-oriented scientist with ability to rapidly gain an overview of project goals and to design appropriate assays to support project teams in the most optimal way. You are a team player, have an out-going personality and possess good communication skills. Experience from the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is an advantage but not a requirement. Applicants should submit their CV, concise description of previous and current research and methodologies as well as name of at least one reference.
At Novo Nordisk, your skills and dedication help us change lives for the better. In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work with extraordinary talent and benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
