- Denmark - Måløv
If you find it exciting and inspiring to be a part of a research team developing new insulin analogues for new and better treatments of diabetes, you may be our new in vivo labora-tory technician in the Insulin Pharmacology department.
About the department
We are a department specialising in large animal and rodent in vivo insulin pharmacology. We work in teams consisting of a scientist and one or more technicians. Each team has its own areas of focus, but all teams have a large expertise within pharmacological methods and work in close collaboration. We contribute by generating the preclinical pharmacology data, including elucidation of effect and degradation, forming the basis of the clinical development of Novo Nordisk’s next generation of insulin analogues. As a department with speciality within animal experiments, we have a strong focus and are engaged in animal welfare. We are localized in a large and modern office and labora-tory facility in Måløv.
The job
As in vivo laboratory technician, you will participate in the planning and preparation of experiments and in carrying out the experiments. Data handling is also part of the pro-cess. It is therefore important that you take responsibility and that you are good at plan-ning your time. In the current team, you will exclusively work with acute and chronic experiments in rodents. You must be able to administer test material intravenously, subcutaneously and per orally, and to sample blood and tissues for your own analyses and for analyses in other de-partments. Apart from test of insulin analogues, you will also participate in the develop-ment and establishment of new animal models and related methods. We have many simultaneously on-going activities and the working atmosphere is charac-terized by an open, cheerful and informal tone. Within the job, there are good possibilities for professional and personal development.
Qualifications
For the two vacant positions we are seeking persons with practical experimental experience with rodents. You have an education as laboratory technician or similar and you have a background within in vivo pharmacology. Experience with surgery is an advantage, but not a necessity. Needed training and guidance will be given. You work in a systematic and focussed fashion with a propensity for tidiness. You are responsible and not afraid of lending colleagues a hand in pressed situations. You are reliable, persistent and a distinct team player. You are outgoing and have a positive attitude.
At Novo Nordisk, we create value by putting patients first. Every ten seconds two people are diagnosed with diabetes, and close to 366 million people worldwide need us. Working here is not just a way to make a living, but a way to make a difference.
