Health & Safety<br/>Job Description<br/><br/>This position will provide leadership to the Employee Health & Safety (EHS) Building Services and teams at Novo Nordisk US Bio Production Inc, (NNUSBPI).<br/><br/>RELATIONSHIPS:<br/><br/>* Reports to: Sr. Manager, Supply Chain & EH&S<br/>* Works closely with representatives from all departments regarding identification and resolution of health, safety and environmental concerns<br/>* Responsible for overall appearance and upkeep of the campus buildings and grounds<br/>* Responsible for Pemitting with and Reporting to Local, State, and Federal agencies<br/><br/>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br/><br/>* Assure all activities comply with established company policies and perform all duties in compliance with global regulatory requirements, the NNUSBPI Quality Manual and SOPs<br/>* Responsible for strategic planning, objective setting and development of performance measures to ensure Building Services and EHS team members achieve assigned objectives<br/>* Establish and maintain a qualified contractor base for routine activities and projects, as needed, in accordance with site cGMP expectations<br/>* Review, train and mentor staff to support objectives<br/>* Provide input into capital plan in areas of responsibility<br/>* Oversee day-to-day operations of the EHS and Building Services team members, and associated Contractors including<br/>* Definition and implementation of all EHS related corrective actions (self-assessments, near miss and incident reporting, inspections, etc.)<br/>* Coordinate deliverables with internal and external groups to maintain compliance<br/>* Development and implementation of EHS training to support Novo Nordisk objectives and regulatory requirements<br/>* Evaluation of employee exposures to chemical and physical agents in the workplace<br/>* Evaluation of new equipment, raw materials and other EHS risk factors<br/>* Development and implementation of control strategies to eliminate or reduce EHS related hazards<br/>* Permit compliance (Air permit, Industrial Discharge, Limited permit, Air toxics, etc.)<br/>* Troubleshooting, investigation, root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action planning related to the areas of responsibility<br/>* Hazardous waste determination, transport and disposal compliance<br/>* Inspection readiness of all systems at all times (internal, federal, state and local inspections)<br/>* Point of contact for all EHS related inspections and health authority inspections in area of responsibility<br/>* Generate and submit permits and periodic reports to government agencies<br/>* Responsible for ongoing communication of EHS program to site staff<br/>* Maintain the buildings and grounds in accordance with site and corporate standards<br/>* Key point of contact for implementing and maintaining Novo Nordisk visual identity<br/>* Responsible for space planning and maintaining seat assignments for all staff including contractors and support services<br/><br/>* Responsible for accurate recordkeeping as well as written programs, management systems and other compliance documentation<br/>* Process owner and responsible for all EHS programs, pest management, housekeeping, life safety systems (Fire Alarm, Sprinkler, first aid, etc.), and security access. May include responsibility for contract security services.<br/>* Back up NH certified Hazardous Waste Coordinator with all associated certifications<br/>* Serves as Emergency Coordinator and First Aid Responder for emergency response activities<br/>* Primary owner for Novo Nordisk EHS data management systems (CATCH and EHS Portal).<br/>* Signature authority includes:<br/>* Novo Nordisk EHS reporting systems (CATCH, EHS Portal, other)<br/>* State, Federal and local compliance reporting (air emissions, manifests, quarterly reports, EPA biennial reports, NHDES safety summary, land disposal restriction forms, waste profiles, etc.)<br/>* FAM authority for systems in area of responsibility (RAM approvals, smartsolve, ELITE, etc.)<br/><br/>* Accountable for defining and implementing projects on budget and on schedule in area of ownership such as ISO certification<br/>* Work outside of normal shift hours as needed to accomplish business goals<br/>* Other duties as assigned<br/>* Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes.<br/>* Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others.<br/><br/>Development of People:<br/><br/>* Manage a team of 2-5 employees and 2-3 Contractors operating at multiple sites<br/>* Ensure that reporting personnel have 3P forms with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process.<br/>* Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.<br/>* Ensure that the IDP forms include completed Learning and Aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility.<br/><br/>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<br/><br/>* Ability to lift 15 kg<br/>* Ability to spend majority of work shift working on the plant floor or at a work station<br/><br/>Education/Special training required:<br/><br/>* Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience<br/>* Chemistry, Environmental and Occupational health training is preferred<br/>Qualifications/work experience required<br/><br/>* EHS certifications (CSP, CIH, CMMS) or prior EHS experience (NHDES hazardous waste coordinator, etc.) preferred<br/>* Minimum of 5 years’ of work experience with progressively complex roles<br/>* Minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience<br/>* Demonstrated history managing multiple contract service providers<br/>* Strong communication and leadership skills<br/>* Ability to work in a team environment<br/>* Experience working in a cGMP regulated environment preferred<br/><br/>Department NNUSBPI - MATERIALS & PROCUREMENT<br/>Position Location US - Lebanon, NH<br/>City West Lebanon<br/>State/Provinces US - NH
