Requisition ID 44288BR<br/>Title Associate Manager - Contract Management & Compliance<br/>Job Category Finance & Auditing<br/>Job Description ASSOCIATE MANAGER - CONTRACT MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE<br/><br/>PURPOSE:<br/><br/>Responsible for working with the Associate Director of Contract Management & Compliance in developing, drafting, and negotiating contracts according to approved pricing, legal and regulatory guidelines, and monitoring contract performance with regard to terms. Responsible for execution of contracts according to NNI policy and routing of contracts through appropriate approval channels. Responsible for contract accuracy and Sarbox compliance. Responsible for assisting with contract risk research and assessment. Engages customers both internal and external to resolve contract adherence deficiencies. Recommends innovations and process improvements for contract systems and procedures.<br/><br/>RELATIONSHIPS:<br/><br/>Reports to the Associate Director of Contract Management & Compliance. Works closely with partners in field Account Management across all marketing channels, as well as with internal stakeholders such as Government Contracts & Compliance, Pricing & Contract Revenue Management team, Managed Markets Strategy; Legal; and Risk Management. Works directly with contracted customers across all levels of responsibility.<br/><br/>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br/><br/>* Authors routine to complex contract documents based on approved products and pricing, market baskets, and formulary requirements. Provides such documents to the account executive and/or customer within the required time frame.<br/>* Authors mass expedited contract documents for new product launches, new business strategy, and generic removals; manages the implementation and execution of all documents; provides regular status reports to internal stakeholders across functional groups.<br/>* Lead for discrete set of regional contracted accounts supporting area directors covering the entire US.<br/>* As needed, supports account executives in negotiating contract terms and conditions.<br/>* Consistently follows company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all guidelines, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, regulations, and policies.<br/>* Ensures execution of approved and finalized customer contracts; including timely and accurate hand-off to other stakeholders.<br/>* Ensures accuracy of pricing, market baskets, and terms within appropriate documents and timely submission of contracts to customers following offer approvals<br/>* Advises management and functional areas of contractual rights and obligations, as necessary.<br/>* Maintains contractual information, including negotiation status and agreed upon terms and conditions, in Contract Lifecycle Management System (CLM). Responsible for training account executives on the use of CLM.<br/>* Obtains all appropriate and required internal reviews and approvals for contract terms and provisions.<br/>* Prepares monthly contracts operations metrics and trend analysis for reporting to management.<br/>* Researches contract clauses for risk analysis.<br/>* Responds to various stakeholder questions, inquiries, requests for clarification, etc. regarding contracts and terms/conditions.<br/>* Updates contract templates as market baskets and standard terms change.<br/>* Validates compliance of client executed agreement to agreed-upon deal sheet terms prior to Novo Nordisk execution. Ensures accuracy of pricing, market baskets, and terms within appropriate documents and timely submission of contracts to customers following offer approvals.<br/>* Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for optimal contract performance, processes, and compliance improvement.<br/>* Independently works with customers and internal functional areas to reach agreement on business and legal aspects of a contract. Independently drafts contract language to meet internal requirements.<br/>* Leads with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrates effectiveness at working effectively with stakeholders.<br/><br/>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<br/><br/>Approximately 10% overnight travel<br/><br/>KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS<br/><br/>* Three (3) years within the pharmaceutical industry preferred.<br/>* Bachelor’s Degree preferred and at least two (2) years of experience in rebate management, contracts management, or similar function.<br/>* Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborating with all stakeholders to develop and execute tactics that best achieve goals within deadlines.<br/>* Legal experience a plus.<br/>* Solid understanding of drug contracting and the distribution channel, and products (understanding of therapeutic areas, drug administration.<br/>* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<br/>* Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Windows, Excel<br/><br/>Department FIN - CONTRACT MGMT & COMPLIANCE<br/>Position Location US - Plainsboro, NJ<br/>City Plainsboro<br/>State/Provinces US - NJ <br/><br/>At Novo Nordisk, we know that driving change on a global level and improving treatment outcomes for people with diabetes and other chronic diseases begins here at home.
