Requisition ID 44966BR<br/>Title Director Market Access BioPharm<br/>Job Category Sales<br/>Job Description PURPOSE:<br/><br/>To provide area leadership and supervision to the field BioPharm Market Access team and to develop and implement Payer, specialty channel and reimbursement strategies that increase profitability and achieve sales objectives. Market Access accounts encompass third party payers of Commercial and Medicaid medical and prescription benefit plans customers (including strategic, regional and local health plans, PBMs and State Government entities, Specialty Channel customers (including Specialty Pharmacies, Home Healthcare organizations and Specialty Distributors).<br/><br/>RELATIONSHIPS:<br/><br/>External relationships include various interactions with customer Executives, Medical, Pharmacy, Quality, Health Economics and other key personnel, organizations and industries within Payer and the Specialty Distribution channels.<br/>Reports to the VP Market Access and has direct supervisory responsibilities for the national field BioPharm Account Executive team at an area level to ensure strategic, regional, state and local account sales objectives via the achievement of profitable access and pull through coordination with field sales forces are accomplished. Other internal relationships include BioPharm Sales and Marketing, BioPharm Market Access Strategy, Contracting and Pricing; Field Medical, Trade, Finance, Legal and other department personnel.<br/><br/>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br/><br/>* Co-develop strategy and objectives for assessing customer needs. Ensure customer objectives integrate into program development (contracting, marketing programs).<br/>* Create an effective network within the Payer and Specialty Channel arenas.<br/>* Customize strategies based on Commercial, Medicaid and Specialty Channel demographics, legislation, and trends.<br/>* Develop and implement strategies that address the reimbursement of products<br/>* Develop and manage area account targeting strategy and objectives, as well as set implementation requirements. This includes the execution of brand value propositions, including clinical, quality and health economics positioning and product specifications.<br/>* Direct/oversee the development of area business plans related to the delivery-of-care structure, customer identification/prioritization, competitive environment, legislation, success requirements, resource utilization, and future trends. Ensure these plans are coordinated and executed within each area.<br/>* Maintain contact with regional Medicaid offices for the purpose of establishing rapport and determination of regional interpretation of coverage rules and regulations.<br/>* Manage organization resource allocation.<br/>* Monitor national program/initiative effectiveness to maximize profitability and ROI for all area customers and area accounts. Oversee account relationship development and manage high-level relationships.<br/>* Oversee area implementation of, and monitor performance against, strategic account management objectives/directives.<br/>* Participate in the development of national, area, regional and local Market Access-related strategies with key Brand and Market Access Marketing and BioPharm Sales.<br/>* Perform other Payer sales and specialty channel projects and analytics as required.<br/>* Provide assistance and direction to Market Access Marketing, Biopharm Marketing and Biopharm Sales to gain addition of BioPharm products to Commercial and Medicaid formularies.<br/>* Provide education, communication and coordination with Sales, Market Access Marketing, Marketing and Legal on government matters to maximize company’s sales and marketing goals.<br/>* Work with Legal and Pricing to provide detailed assessment and interpretation of key legislation including business implications, financial impact and recommended response.<br/>* Develop and monitor performance against budget.<br/>* Establish, oversee implementation, and monitor adherence to administrative policies and procedures<br/>* Evaluate appropriate use of resources to ensure attainment of strategic account and NNI profitability goals.<br/>* Review and audit expense reports.<br/>* Assist in providing input into the development of related incentive programs.<br/>* Attend industry meetings and develop knowledge and relationships within industry associations for Commercial and Medicaid channels.<br/>* Create an effective network within area Commercial Payer, Medicaid and Specialty Channels.<br/>* Develop the annual Area Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare and Specialty Channel Accounts Business plan and implement it accordingly. Continuously evaluate and take corrective action as needed.<br/>* Manage and assist in the development of the promotional budget assuring the most effective use of resources.<br/>* Participate in coordination of overall Marketing and Sales strategies.<br/>* Co-explore and evaluate sales opportunities in all emerging marketplaces for given area.<br/>* Develop and coordinate “best in class” pull through practices and execution of plans with BioPharm Sales Management.<br/>* Maintain positive working relationships with the BioPharm Sales, Marketing, Finance, Medical, and all other functional areas within Novo Nordisk.<br/><br/>Physical Requirements:<br/><br/>* 50-75% overnight travel required<br/><br/>QUALIFICATIONS:<br/><br/>* A minimum of 8 - 10 years progressive pharmaceutical sales and 4 years of account Management, with sales management preferred.<br/>* Bachelor’s degree required.<br/>* Experience in specialty products channel and specialty product channel preferred.<br/>* Management and/or team leadership experience required.<br/>* Proven track record of results.<br/><br/>Additional Details:<br/>This position is national in scope and therefore, residency in a specific city is not required.
