Are you a driven and experienced professional with strong analytical skills and significant knowledge of the diabetes market? Do you have a desire to work on projects which directly impact our diabetes product portfolio? An exciting position as Global Portfolio Manager is open for immediate placement in the New Product Planning Diabetes team.

About the department
New Product Planning Diabetes (NPP Diabetes) is increasingly important for the commercial success of new products in the pharmaceutical industry. We are responsible for shaping the commercial profile of early assets within the diabetes and obesity portfolios, and to support senior management decision making through fact-based market perspectives and insightful commercial assessments. These include shaping the product profile, assessing the project and portfolio value for internal assets as well as licensing and acquisition opportunities, quantifying commercial trade-offs between strategic options, and comprehensive risk analysis.

The job
New Product Planning-Diabetes is part of the Commercial Planning organization in Global Marketing and Medical Affairs. The position as Global Portfolio Manager is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team that works with a diverse network of colleagues to guide the future commercial success of the company. You will report to the Senior Director, New Product Planning Diabetes.

The right person will join a team dedicated to delivering top-quality quantitative and qualitative commercial assessments. Your key tasks will be to work with an asset’s core team to develop the target product profile, to collect primary and secondary data on market conditions and shape that data into actionable recommendations, to lead the development of the commercial portions of the Product Business Plan, and to create financial valuations of early stage assets. On a daily basis, you will work with a diverse network of internal colleagues from Research & Development, Global Marketing, Finance and Product Supply. You will work in a global context but interact primarily with headquarters functions and can therefore anticipate less than 20 days of travel per year.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate has relevant business education with demonstrated expertise in both marketing and financial evaluations in the pharmaceutical industry. You have 8-12 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within diabetes, as well as significant experience within the commercial area. It is critical to possess strong analytical skills and a proven ability to translate analysis into opportunities and sound recommendations. On the personal side, the candidate must be dynamic and have excellent interpersonal skills, as this position requires you to work with many stakeholders across the company. You have the ability to identify new ways of achieving goals and to get others engaged in discussions outside their area of expertise. It is important you can work individually and as part of a team in order to contribute to high performance. You are self-motivated, service minded, ambitious and able to work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines. You have strong communication skills and have an excellent command of both written and spoken English.

At Novo Nordisk, we strive for excellence. As a world leader in diabetes care and a major player in haemostasis management, growth hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy, we offer our employees opportunities for continuous growth.
