Metrology Engineer

- Research & Development
- Denmark - Hillerød

If you want to unfold your metrology skills in a medical R&D environment with the latest technology, systems and methods, this is your opportunity.

About the department
You will join Experiments in Device Research & Development in Hillerød, approx. 30 km north of Copenhagen. We handle early development phase testing of all Novo Nordisk’s medical devices as well as advanced problem solving. You will play a key role in a dynamic group of highly competent and innovative Engineers and Technicians. We guarantee that you can foresee challenges and development opportunities.

The job
Your overall objective is to support the development of new devices with advanced metrology knowledge. Your tasks will range from characterisation of devices, components or materials in the early development phases to root cause analyses in product support. This takes solid mechanical insight. You will also be responsible for the development of new metrology methods and work as a sparring partner within metrology for our project teams. Dimensional metrology will be a central part of most of your work, and you will therefore have all relevant tools and instruments at your disposal, including CMMs, profilometers, CT scanners and optical scanners. We support early prototype inspection, and consequently a basic understanding of materials and materials processing in medical device production will be valuable. The processes include injection moulding, gluing or welding, machining and surface treatment of metals and packaging and labelling processes.

Qualifications
You hold an MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar and have minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in an innovative R&D environment. This has provided you with documented skills within metrology as well as coordinate measuring machines, and preferably also optical or X-ray based scanning. You are familiar with one or several of the following disciplines: programming, fixture construction, point cloud handling, including measurement result analysis and documentation. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of dimensional and geometrical product specifications. We use complex 3D graphical software for scanning and point cloud analysis. Therefore 3D skills covering, e.g. CAD modelling, will be beneficial. As a person you have a mind set on providing high quality in everything you do, and you are able to explain complex subjects in a clear and understandable way. Your openminded approach makes it easy for you to create results via strong teamwork, and your curious mindset makes you eager to learn and be inspired. You will also need your energy and ability to handle multiple tasks and still meet agreed milestones and deadlines.

At Novo Nordisk you will be part of a professional community that is committed to fighting an ongoing pandemic. Our success in the field of innovative medicines is due to our dedication, engagement and respect for the people we are here to help.
